Default are ported LS6 heads worth the money?

should i spend time and money on a set of ported LS6 heads or have MTI houston port my stock LS6 heads or should i step up and justify the extra money on a set of AFR's or equivilant?

money is alittle tight because of a zero oil pressure problem but im already in the car, whats your opinions?

If you were to get a set of TSP PRC heads, they will just be worked over LS6 heads. The LS6 heads are a upgrade head & with some good port/machine work they are hard to beat for the pricing. Now if you got the money to drop for AFR go ahead, but on a budget LS6 heads are the way to go.

Those are about the best bang for the buck on the market. The only other heads I know of that are priced close to that are the Livernois heads.

Best bang for the buck is the stock valved 243 Patriot heads, 300cfm, small cc runners, like $1000 or so.

Bo, a small cc runner? Aren't they nearly 230cc now? The old Patiot LS6 head program cut a 237cc runner. I wouldn't call that a "small cc" head, but they do work well and make good torque.

Most importantly they are a great bargain.

Heads you have are good. I would save for AFR's. But get the oil issue solved first.

PRC's new CNC program they have puts them at 220cc with nearly identical flow.

Good, 237 is a little large for stock valves.

Absolutely, they are worth the money! With the right setup, these heads will perform great. More times than not, they will make the same if not more power than many of the big-named heads available today with half the price. Jump on our site and take a look at the PRC heads. We have several options available to meet any needs you might have. You might also take a look in the dyno section for some recent results!

Feel free to give us a call with any questions you might have!

I know I am kinda late on this thread, but Jon is exactly right when he says "More times than not, they will make the same if not more power than many of the big-named heads available today with half the price."

Lots of people believe you have to buy an AFR or a Dart etc to make power, and that is so far from the truth it's funny sometimes.

Got proof? There was a thread about this where your company stated this same thing, but have still failed to post back in there and prove this? Here is a link for you, just in case you forgot. https://ls1tech.com/forums/showthrea...highlight=dart

How about stepping up to the claims with some proof?

Are we talking about power all over or just in certain areas? Got proof of this?

I think stuff like this is why lots of vendors dislike message boards so much. You should smile more
