Default Help picking out a 408!!!

Hey, im ordering a 408 iron block from TSP next monday, i was wondering if anyone could help me pick a killer combo, im going with a fast 90/90, racetronix fuel pump kit, 42lb injectors, a tune from TSP,, the guy from TSP (John Reynolds) wants to do the eagle forged crank, upgraded H-beam rods and bolts, -2cc forged dished piston, texas giant cam, stage 3 heads with 72cc chambers! He said it would b a 11:1 motor with that setup! It will be sprayed with a 150 or 200 shot also! It sounds like a good setup to me but i was wanting some other opinions! Any advise appreciated!!!

i would go with a higher scr than 11:0 with that giant cam because your dcr will be pretty low.i'd go atleast 11:5 or maybe even 12:0 if you run 93 octane.

That is the exact same setup that Im doing. Except I already bought an ms3 cam, and I will be buying trick flow heads either the 225's or I might wait for the 235's. Im building my own motor since its much cheaper than buying one.

How much did you save apx?

I was on TSPs site and saw this ... complete 408 long block for 6600

I get parts at a really good price so for me it was about 1500 dollars cheaper to build it myself. Im not sure how much you would save. Im doing the exact same setup as you want though. I will be spraying 200 with a tnt kit.

LME built my first. Went with Erik on my second. Won`t go into why I went with Erik, but he is the man. Put one sweet *** motor together for me. Will never go anywhere else! Erik is the ****. And he has the hook-up with Greg Good, the best head porter I know!

I went with LME, and will be hitting my 408 with a 300 shot. Brian was great, and prices are pretty good also. They worked with me on parts selection and this will be a beast.
