Default Help Choosing Pistons

I was wondering what kind of forged pistons you LS1 guys were running. I have a 99 with heads/cam and am gettin ready to rebuild it and would like to go ahead and swap in some forged pistons and spray it.

Thanks,
Adam

I bought some custom Diamonds for my boost motor, Diamonds are pretty good from what I hear...you could always get a nice flat top piston w/valve reliefs built in, if your running a big cam...then spray the **** out of it....

People have been very happy recently with the Diamonds offered by ThunderRacing and others. I think they are more than adequate, if properly spec'd, for 99.9% of LS1 applications. For the bigger money, possibly fancier stuff, Wiseco is what MTI generally uses, and JE is what you use if you are going all out (in all of my experiences, others may disagree.)

I am running JE forged pistons in my 346ci motor. They are excellent pistons! Diamonds is just as good, if not better. Chris @ Diamond is always available to answer any questions you may have, which is a huge plus! I would use them if I was ever to build another motor.
