I am using the Trick Flow Stg 3 cam and I love it, I put down 445rwhp and 420ftlbs. I was going to use the trick flow heads but, I decided to save some money and use the patriot stg 2 ls6 heads.

i recomend the stageII heads, got them myself, but the 226/226 is no high hp cam.. i got that combo, and FAST 90/90 i think i dont even make the same hp's as you do, i was hoping for around 430ish,
but on the good side i am very pleased with how good power the cam makes through all the curve

TFS Stg 3 - 228/230 .585/.585 112

Unless Patriot started buying this cam from comp,it does not have XER lobes. If they bought it from comp it would sell for more money.

Patriot sells their cams for less than what dealers can buy cams from comp. So that tells me they are not comp XER lobes. If Patriot is telling this ,then it is false advertising.
I'm not saying that Patriots cam is bad. I have seen that cam make some good power. It's just not associated with comps XER lobes.

You are a good Hotcam candidate with your goals stated. Most all of the higher lift cams need to be shifted at 6500 rpms, not sure about the hotcam, but I'm sure it has a lower "operating" range. Not to mention you'd be on the supercheap. Not to mention, I don't think the Comp 918 springs work with stock valvespring retainers and locks.

I went with the TFS stage 3 cam and without the ported Fast 90/90 combo as someone above, I put down 444.4 rwhp and 411tq. Soon I will add a ported fast and a Nick Williams along with a set of 3.90's and hope to hit 470.
