Oh wow thats way higher than mine. Howard only tuned my to like 6300-6400 rpm redline cause it didnt seem to want to make any more power. I think it needed more air...

MM98,
What didn't you like about the T2? What did you like about your new TFS III cam?

The T2 really lacked the bottom end I was looking for, didn't really perform til 4k & was sometimes a pain in stop & go traffic.. The TFSIII feels great everywhere, just as good up top as the T2 & drivability isn't an issue.

Thanks for the info. People have suggested the T2 but I want the power a little lower, more streetable. I was thinking the new Patriot 225/229 .580"/.590" 114° or the comp 224/230 .581/.588 114°.
The TFS III is 228 int./230 exh. 0.585 int./0.585 exh. lift 112° LSA correct?

i did a ls1 swap on my truck and ordered a 226/226 .584/.584 112+4 XER from comp. no dyno numbers but with stock heads and full bolt ons, it pushed my ecsb to 12.49 with nothing else changing. my previous best with the stock cam was 13.26 so i like the gains

I've only had time to have my tuner do a drivability tune... Hopefully the end of this year or the begining of next I can get it on the dyno, it does feel really strong however.. Like I said, I also had a comp xer 224/228 before this cam, they both feel about the same on the low end, but mid & top the tfs feels better.

I am going ot have to disagree with a camswap being atleast 1000 bucks..

From what I understand, Hydraulic Cams are pretty much good for a long time, unless its scared up or whatnot,.

So used cam - 200 bucks
Pushrods - 70 bucks
918's- 150
Gasket Set and bolt- 100 bucks

thats only 520 bucks... and thats everything..... (Assuming you do labor yourself, but camswaps around here run about 200-250, but a side jobber)

So 720 installed... Thats a lot better than 1000 before labor...

Yeah, but now add in the $300-500 tune that you will absolutely need with a cam swap and you're at MINIMUM over $1,000. People seem to forget the cost of the tune.

By the way, did the OP ever get that Patrick G custom cam installed? No results posted?
