Default New a good shop in the New Orleans area

I need a good shop in the New Orleans area to rebuild my LS1. I am in the military so I really have little time to work on it myself. I am just trying to get this car running before I deploy back to the sand box.

I would bring it to Futral or Thunder Racing.

Called thunder up and they recommended Futral. Just 2 Grand just to pull the motor and take it apart seems a little pricey.

Called them some time last year they seemed real expensive also. How expensive should it be to replace rod bearing or rebuilding the engine. The car only has 90K on it. Went to the base auto hobby shop they told me it was a bad valve spring. So I replaced all of them to also include harland sharp roller rockers and thunder racing pushrods. Soon as we fired the car up the noise is now coming from the botom end and the tech at the hobby shop things it is a main rod bear now.

I just had mine done from Futral. They should do more than just that for 2k. I know the machine work and all takes a chunk out of things. They do not skimp over there and everything will be top notch.

To have a shop do it is not gonna be cheap. It cost roughly the same amount of money to repair an engine(assuming it is repairable) as it does to buy a new or reman shortblock. You are looking in the neighborhood of 3-5000 dollars.
