New lifters/parts cleaning/lubing before install?
I want to throughly clean all my new internals before I install them. Most of it is straight forward. I figured just some brake cleaner and a rag. What should I do to clean the lifters? They are new and have some dust and stuff on them. Should I just wipe them down or soak them in something? I just want to make sure everything is as clean as possible.
Also I bought some assembly lube to coat stuff with because, the motor will sit for at least a couple weeks before it's started. What should I coat w/ it and is there anything I shouldn't coat. I was planning on putting it on the lifters, cam and possibly the timing chain.
Do I need to soak the lifters in oil before install?
Any input?

What about assembly lube on the cam and lifters? Should I put a little on the roller and lifter body to protect it during initial startup?
Since the engine can't be primed easily without rotating it, like an old school SBC. I just want to make sure it's all safe as possible.

Make sure you clean the deck of the block and heads with lots of lacquer thinner it will take that old gasket **** off real quick. 1 thing i messed up was I forgot to tighten that bolt that blocks off the temp sensor port on the passenger side head. When I fired it up it was leaking and if you have big hands its a BITCH to get to atleast for me
