"what would be the max compression ratio one could theoretically run on a street/strip LS1 without issues"
Of course using good gas.

I was thinking using 112 leaded and some 100 unleaded.looking at 12.1 compression.Its mostly track.

With 100unleaded i would say you could easily go 12.5-13.0:1. You are just going to have to watch what kinda dynamic compression ratio you end up with. You can calculate it with your cam specs. Usually you can run a fairly large static compression ratio if your cam produces a fairly low dynamic ratio. Again you'd need to calculate it to figure it out.

With the 112leaded, i wouldn't be afraid to go 14:0.

wow jimmy those are some very informative links. Problem is i dont know alot of the information needed to do the dynamic compression calculations. I have a 454 big block with aluminum heads, 12.25:1 static compression, and a 263/273 580/620 110 lsa solid cam that i am trying to soem calculations on as far as what the octane requirements of the motor would be. I am torn between 110 and 100 and do not wanna hurt the motor. Can you give any advice or point me in the proper direction of where to look this stuff up.

I would run 100 unleaded Brad... I'm sure that some of the 13:1 guys like GeorgeC are running 110 leaded. Honestly I think you could run on just 93 except maybe in the hotter months but the race gas is a nice cushion and I know you want to be out all year.
