Girl for the Win
People can type but the can't read.
If you are going for the fastest cam only car.. youwill also need ways to put that power to the ground.. hence a new rear-end and dr's.
Ye who spends the most money wins.
I hope you're aware of the big debate on here about big cams vs. proper set-ups. Pat G would probably fall out of his chair when reading this thread. XD
Also, I would take PredZ's advice.

btw, nice numbers in your sig for a bolt on car

Like I said in the 1st post, yes I am going to do gears and lt's WITH the install, just not sure if I want true duals or a cat back.
The motor has only 3500 miles on it as of the moment so don't believe that I need new oil pump or timing chain. I will be doing 921's and pushrods with whatever cam I go with.
as per the American Heritage Dictionary:
1. Something, such as a machine or an engine, that produces or imparts motion.
2. A device that converts any form of energy into mechanical energy, especially an internal-combustion engine or an arrangement of coils and magnets that converts electric current into mechanical power.

Take a look at this thread.

Back to the thread. You can get as big a cam as you wnt as long as you get the right tune then you will love it.

smok'nWS6 You do know that a 04' GTO 5.7 is the same thing as everyone else has right? Im not trying to be mean, but just want you to know that its just an LS1 which is a sweet engine. Good luck with your build up. Keep us updated.
It's good that you are planning all the supporting mods as well. Don't forget about a clutch and your rear is gonna be on borrowed time if you start putting drag radials or anything on it.
Personally I'd say if you're going to keep the stock heads and intake then pick a cam in the mid 230's and if want more power than that put a safe 100 shot on top of it. That should make for a simple install with no p to v issues, good driveability and torque, a useable powerband where you won't have to spin it to 7k to make power, and spray is the best bang for the buck when making power.
Good luck and keep us up to date on what you do.
I am an engineer....
1. Find a good tuner.
2. Good Longtube headers with duals preferably
3. supporting valvetrain (springs, locks, retainers ect...)
4. ls6 intake minimum, fast 90/90 combo preferred.
4. rod bolts
5. 4.10 or lower gear (possible rear end upgrade)
6. Clutch
I've seen several TREX cam only/ heads/cam videos and they are spinning their motors over 7,000 rpm. One video in particular stood out to me. A 6 speed Z/28 with a 4.56 gear. That cam loved those gears.

MS3 if you want to spray it. Terminator's white SS has proven this theory over and over again.
flycut a little bit and stick a tsp giant in there.

i'm hoping your making fun of a different poster lol
Do your bolt on's first. Then do a cam, and when you do decide what to go with, I would replace alot of internal parts!!!
Just do all bolt ons and you can run 11 something just like everyone else does !! But, don't believe everything you read because it could be a lot of BS.

I'm sooooo dissapointed.
