Default timing chain and retainers question

I'm ordering a tr224/224 112 lsa and runnign it w/ 918 springs, a tr ls6 oil pump and it comes w/ tr pushrods (the cam kit). I wanna get an ls2 timing chain would i need the gear too or just swap the ls1 for the ls2? Also, Theres an option to add titanium retainers do you think i would need these? thx doggz

The LS2 T. chain will fit right on your LS1 cam/pump gears but if you have high mileage you might consider new OEM gears (60$ ) otherwise your fine.
The titanium retainers are a good addition to keep the valvetrain nice and light, but they are not necessary hell you could reuse your old ones. If you have the money get em' if not don't worry about it.

^^^Yup, what he said. I wouldnt worry about replacing the gears, unless they look worn. As for the retainers, i choose to upgrade to titanium for the added strength, and also to keep the valvetrain as light as possible.
