If price is an issue, you can't beat Patriot Performance. They make a great head, and the customer service can't be beat. If price is not that important, I believe the AFR's are the best on themarket. The tip-in & partial throttle response are amazing. The gains are also great under the curve (lower RPM's).

Depends how you define "worth it". If you can get 30 HP for the first grand, is another 10 HP worth an additional grand of more?

I bought the Patriot 243 castings and had them CNC ported. I used stock valves and the Partiot Gold Dual springs..............I got the heads for around 600. Seamed like a really good deal. I am planning on taking them off this winter and have Bo White do a P&P job on them along with the bigger valves. I am going to have the car dynoed Sunday.............I will give you the results when I get back.

Hmmm, thats a tough one, but my first thoughts would be yes its worth it. Squeezing every last bit out costs.-*/

Theres just so many good heads out there now its nuts. CNC ported ls6 heads make great power and are what? 1g?, Then you have darts that i think are decent, and then have AFR/trickflow/ETP. Keep checking the classifieds or order from any of the sponsors the ls6 ported heads

The dyno didn't go as planned. I hit a wheel in the road that fell off a trailor in front of me. Probably will be a while on the dyno results. I was mistaken on the price I paid for the heads. I paid a little over 800 for bare cnc ported heads with valves.

I just put some TSP PRC LS6 heads on with a Trex. Had to get a mail order tune for now cuz I couldn't get in to my tuner for a while. Just ordered a new shift light cuz mine wasn't working and the car revs to 7000 grand so fast it's scary. Great set of heads for the money...

Most of the guys I know swear by the TEA Stage 1.5 5.3L Heads ($1500.00) . All of them are running mid-low 11's and are daily drivers. I think thier cams are 224-232 range of course. I think I would probably go with the TEA's myself .

I like the TSP PRC pkg deal too. That seems to be one of the best deals going on ,but I haven't seen anyone running thier entire pkg yet. I'm sure it's a beast !!

Go with the PRC LS6 heads, sweet cost and more then enough performance for your dollars. However the better the head you can afford to begin with the better.
