Hey Jmm,
I'm leaning towards the ASA cam as well. I currently get 20-21mpg combined cty/hwy with my bonestock a4/2.73 '02 T/A. Just curious, how much did your mileage drop with the cam and stall combined?
Thanks.

Bump from the dead, I'm thinking about this cam since I don't car about racin or track times, sounds badass and isn't too bad on springs. People still loving and hating these lol

The ASA cam was a great cam for it's day. Made a gorgeous TQ curve, had a nasty sounding idle, and you could use LS6 valve springs with zero worry of every having a spring failure thanks to the .525 lift.
However when being compared to today's camshaft technology, it's a middle-range and mediocre performing cam at best. It'll make 370-380hp on stock heads with an M6 car with a great TQ curve, but considering there's stock headed cars doing 410-420rwhp these days with a similar TQ curve it's not going to be the best performer for the money.
And it's definitely not a cam I'd ever install in an automatic car, regardless of the stall.

Added ASA to my L99 to LS3
Besides just about as true of an LS3 conversion as you can do and an intake, headers and unrestricted exhaust we got 426rwhp and 411 torque on an automatic
