There is probably no one on this forum running springs at 1.800", not even the stock springs are set up at that height, they come it at about 1.760". The difference between the PSI and the Comps is the much higher spring rate at 384 lb/in.
Thats what I figured. My 918's are set up at 1.75".

Well add me to the list. I broke at least 3 as far as I can see without taking them off. I did take one off, the one in the pic. My batch # is 049826. Dunno if the zero in front matters or not. I put about 3k on these springs with the small TR224 cam, and NEVER got on the springs when the engine was not at full operating temp.

Where the hell is Comp Cams? I thought someone contacted them about this problem, they should have a representative on here already. I'm scared to use my 918's now and I wish I had gone with the Gold duals in the first place but I didn't because I was told they were too much spring for my TR230.

Damn't this is frustrating.

My 918 experience has been a little better that yours..They were installed with a GT2-5 cam back in '05..They have a long haul power tour under their belt with a few 7 k pulls thrown in for good measure. The cam is a 222/222 .582 lift using comp pro magnum 1.75 roller rockers.I sold them 6 months ago & they are still in use on a '04 goat..
Comp sells ALOT of 918's...More don't break than do..
You never hear about the ones that don't.
My personal customer expeirence with Comp has been fantastic..They warranted out my FAST 90 mm TB while on the power tour (it was sticking open).I just walked up to the COMP tent & told them my problem.Their rep went & looked at the car.He then arranged to have a new TB sent to the next stop.
Recently ,I had a comp R lifter **** a retainer..They sent me a new set of lifters no questions asked. So from a customer service stand point,I've had nothing but good luck.

Re-read the thread, the problem is with 918's that were recently bought since comp changes suppliers (last 6-12 months). The older ones are fine. And comp sending new springs because one broke and dropped a valve in your motor ruining your whole longblock really won't help at all.

Ya I read....I even comrehended...Who here has proof of this supposed "supplier change" even occurred? I'm not saying it didn't..But who here is the "inside source" that knows who the hell builds Comp 918's from month to month?
BTW..Broken valve springs are not excusive 918 territory.I know someone who broke a PRC dual on an MS4...I know personally two people who have broken 918's..My father & the guy with the spice red goat (The Rock on ls1 GTO.com)..My dads 918 just cracked a coil & didn't know until the heads came off for another reason..The goat dropped a valve & destroyed the longblock...The car had less than 36K on it sooo....that motor got covered.
Here's a post form someone who does know a thing or two:

this makes two separate incidents from that batch...I'm noting that in my list....

Not so. IMO you can put the duals on the stock cam is you wanted. The pressures are in no danger of collapsing a lifter. It may be more than you need, but I would not go so far as to say theyre too much.

On an LT1?

Theirs a certain dual spring we run on LT1, rather common to have valve float issues with them.

Are you sure you drove the car easy to let them break in?

Yep. I ordered patriot Xtremes friday though. If I knew you guys had experience with LT1's I would have given you guys a call, it's hard to find shops out there that still care about us LT1 guys. Just out of curiosity what springs do you run with LT1's? What makes LT1's more prone to valve float, the heavy valvetrain we have?

It could be mechanically (valvetrain) or tuning related. Where's WOT timing and AFR at in your tune?
