Default ARP head bolts...anyone else have problems with stripping?..

Guys,

Whats the best way to get stripped ARP bolts off a cylinder head?...This pisses me off...I was especially careful when torquing them down...now only about 1/2 are coming back out..the rest are slipping off the socket big time. My plan was to swap out the bolts with studs while doing some other work ..now I have to rethink the situation.

If this was your situation would you drill out the bolts?..How easy/hard is this on an ARP bolt? My bolt removers don't seem to want to grab the ARP head either...

that really sucks. maybe you can weld a socket to the head of the bolt or something

you shouldn't be slipping with a 12 point socket

Are you using 12 point socket? Cause that'd be bad. If the bolt is rounded off a bit, maybe u could try the gator grip universal socket?

Are you using the correct size 12 point? A 12 point gives you more contact than a hex head bolt, this shouldn't be happening unless something is wrong.

I'd be surprised if the bolt is rounded. I've got ARP head bolts, and I've had a couple sockets slip off of them... however, the bolt split the socket both times... the head of the bolt never took any noticable damage.
