Default TSP 228R Question

Hey guys, just got my 228R cam installed yesterday and I was wondering if I have to get the ecu tuned....The car runs well already, but it doesn't like to idle very much. If I slow down to stop at a redlight, the car dies...I just want to know if the computer will learn to deal with this or if I need to have it tuned...

Definitely get it tuned. It will be like night and day. You'll also gain more power from tuning. The car will not die anymore.

For sure get a live street tune, not a mail order!!! Dyno tunes arent as true as a street tune, dont get me wrong dyno tunes are great but a live tune is better

It will learn how to keep itself running at stops, but you need to get a tune when you can.

With Prem. Gas as high as it is, how can you afford not to get it tuned? When you quite drowning that poor LS1 I'm sure it will appreciate it.

you need to get it tuned but for temporary situations you could drill out the throttle body a bit and that should keep it from dieing

If your tuner says he needs to drill a hole in your throttle body blade, thank him and take your car to a qualified tuner.

A dyno tune is the best way to tune your car, then your tuner should see how it runs on the street. A dyno will hold the car in a problem range so the tuner can fix the problem area. A dyno is a tuning tool.

Do more research, but yes you should have the car tuned after that cam and your bolt ons. The car will be much more fun to drive.
