I took care of the overheating, and now the oil pressure is alittle better. At cruising its at 40psi or very close to (+/- 1 or 2 psi). And at idle when I come to a light it goes to probably 25psi. I havent gone WOT yet, but when I rev the engine in neutral it shoots to 55-60psi, so I should be ok. Either fixing the overheating problem, or the more I drive it the better it gets idk. I am still changing the oil this weekend and am going to try a different oil filter to see if that shows any improvment.

Also I talked to a guy at a local speed shop, and he said anything from 40 to 60psi at WOT is ok. And that 25psi at idle is nothing to worry about, he said I should worry if it goes to 5-10psi.

Yea, it sounds like its gettin better. I would almost gaurentee you after you change your oil/filter it will be back to normal completely. How many miles you have on this oil change & what weight of oil?? It could be tryin to break down. When I changed mine I was like 1k miles over on my change time & it was black as Satans heart. Now with fresh oil/filter all is good. And I had the same low oil pressure problem.

I have maybe 86 miles. I just got done swapping cams a week or so ago. I only put 5 quarts in and I thought it took 5.5 qts, but on the dipstick its right where it should be so I left it.

I'd go ahead & try it anyway. Never know, could have got a bad filter. I've had little crap like that happen so many times it isn't funny anymore.

I changed the oil today, the pressure I think will be fine. It goes to 55-60 @ 5000 rpm.

But I did notice there is SUPER fine metal particles in the oil, almost like dust. The magnet wouldnt even touch them they were so small. Is this normal after a cam swap? Maybe just the cam breaking in? I dont know.

bump...

metal in the oil I know is bad, but it is so fine that you cant see it unless you shine light on it, otherwise the oil looks good and clean.
