Default LS4 oil pump...Use it or No?

Ok I was going to use a LS4 oil pump in my new motor and ive heard that they are having problems and was wanting to get some feed back on people who have used them and why I should or shouldnt use it. Thank you and help is appericiated.

slightly off topic, but what is your reasoning for wanting to run a ls4 pump?

Isn't the LS4 pump used on DOD engines?

I'm not sure if they run at a different pressure to activate and deactivate the 8 lifters that are used for DOD.

I wouldn't use it unless you know for sure.

dude use a tried and true ls6 or ported ls6 pump and have that peace of mind that it works

I was under the impression that the LS4 pump flowed more volume and similar pressure when compared to a ported/shimmed LS6.. but they could flow TOO much oil, and drain your pan before the oil could make it's way back down.
