change oil light??
change oil light?? how does the computer determine that you need to change your oil? is it just elapsed mileage or is there some more complicated method behind it? i only ask because it's reset the same way the trip computer is (leading me to believe that it's mileage determined) but it usually goes beyond 3k miles b4 turning on and if i change the oil b4 it comes on it will go as long as 20k miles b4 illuminating....i am baffled

it comes down to how you drive your car to when the light comes on.
You can reset the light by hitting the gas pedal 3 times when you turn on the accessories, then you can start it up- thats how the dealership does it. Or you can just hold down the trip monitor for a while- it resets the trip.
