Will a cam do anything for rasp?

i ran LTs and an ORY(dumped) for a little bit with no rasp, i put on the borla catback (not going thru the muffler, just out the back) and theres the normal mid-range rasp... my question is, would a cam (say 228/228 for ***** and giggles) "cure" the rasp? ive been getting so much conflicting info when i ask people this question...

yeah, it definately wont cure it. It will make the exaust louder as a whole. That includes the rasp rpm area.

I would suggest going to a catted y-pipe or possibly true duals if the rasp is really bothering you.

yeah, itll make it worse.

is your borla adjustable? id screw around with that if it is. if that doesnt work, get yourself a borla XR-1 or something and slap it in the i pipe.

the borla is adjustable but unfortunately i only have the "fully open" plate... i think i may give in and do true duals... is there a company that makes under the axle and out the back duals? or am i going to have to make this custom and spend a lot of money?

No one makes a bolt-up true dual setup that goes all the way out the back as far as I know. I'm getting the TSP true duals and then having them ran under the axle and out the back by an exhaust shop. It's pretty cheap to have it ran under the axle though.

a modified y pipe with a flowmaster merge collector will eliminate the rasp. instead of the exhaust smashing together hence creating the 2000-2500 rpm rasp.
