Do you think this cam is good for me? Trickflow
I am building a 1993 Rx7 with a Ls1 from a 2002 trans am ws6. Yes its a six speed . The mods I have for the cars are as follows.
Z06 243 casting heads
1 7/8 long tubes
slp MAF
cam???
free flowing exhaust
I want the car to be very drivable but also sound good. So do you think this cam is very streetable? Would it be a good choice? If anyone has some experiance with this cam or any other cam that might be a good choice for me let me know please.

I think you can go bigger on the cam and be fine. A TR-224 or a 224 XE-R are good cams for the street. I have a custom 224 XE-R on 113 LSA. The
224/224 cams are a really good starting place. You'll need to upgrade spings for either of those 224's.
Some will say go bigger etc.
The 243 casting is an LS1 head not an LS6 head, I believe.

I would think that with such a light car (about 2800 lbs) and with stock 4.33 gears in the chunk, you coudl go much bigger on the cam. 220/224 cam will be heavy on the torque side of things and you may not be able to put the power down as well as you could with a larger cam.
Have you considered having Patrick G. spec a custom cam for you? He will custom spec a cam for a minimal fee and provide you with a spec sheet to send to Thunder Racing. Then you would have a cam tailored to your driving style, goals, and vehicle.

The light weight of that car will not make a huge cam so unbearable I'd think... Talk to Pat G, tell him your goals, setup, etc... he or Predator can steer you in the right direction. I also think you can go a good bit bigger on the cam. The 7/8" headers wont really help on a cam that small I'd think.

and use a 112 lobe. Use 1-3/4" headers if possible.
These heads DO NOT need huge cams to perform well. I think your selection is worth a try.
