Default Stock Thermostat Temp.

I could not find this with the search so here we go...

This should be an easy one. What temp. does the stock thermostat open for a 2001?

I want to set my fans: Fan 1 on - 199, off- 192; Fan 2 on- 207, off-200.
But if the thermostat opens after 192 then what is the point.

Thanks in Advance!

Later model's had 187* thermos in them. My 2002 did, and I wouldnt be surprised if 2001 did as well.

To your question of the point that you made. Your right.. you need to change both the T-Stat and reprogram the fans to come on to complement the t-stat opening, otherwise it could be a usless effort.
Also by changing the operating temp of the engine to be in a lower range.. your fuel table may not be optimun and should be adjusted if possible for the new Fan and T-stat setting/range.

talk to a good tuner.

While I dont know if you can take the stock thermo down that far, you certainly can lower teh fan temps to 200-210 on a stock thermo. It will certainly help without the need to swap 'stats.

The one I pulled out of mine was a 187* stat...I had no problems keeping the fans down around 200 or so.
