LSx PTV without flycutting questions for cam and head gurus
I've read through the stickys and did a search on google. I couldn't find anything regarding minimum CC/milling without flycutting.
The 2 heads I'm looking into are the AFR 205s and ETP 215s.
These heads would go with a stock bottom end / rotating assembly LS1 with a 231/237 .589/.595 112 + 4 cam and .040 head gaskets.
1) What is the accepted minimum clearance for PTV? I've read .080 on intake and .100 on exhaust.
2) What is the minimum CC / Mill amount I can take off of the AFR 205 66cc heads while still maintaining the accepted minimum clearance without flycutting?
3) What is the minimum CC / Mill amount I can take off of the ETP 215 heads while still maintaining the accepted minimum clearance without flycutting? I think the ETP heads are on a 11 or 11.5 degree valve angle which woulds allow a smaller CC without issues.
