Default Low power...GOT TORQUE...no

Why is torque so dam low? What could be causing me to have such low power output?

I had the car dyno about a week ago and I want to know what you guys think of the results. I think they are pretty low and the tuner even said he has never seen anything that low for the amount of mods done. The car runs great though.

Car: 2000 Camaro SS 53,000 miles A4

Mod list: TR224 cam 112,LS6 intake, 918 springs, ls6 oil pump, longtube headers, cutout, ported tb, ss4000 stall.

Results: 351.6 rwhp 341.6 rwtq open cutout
328 rwhp 331 rwtq cutout closed

The baseline run was 307hp and 317 tq.

Whats wrong with my car??

I also ran a guy with basically the same mods minus the cam and he has a 3600 stall, and we ran neck and neck.

I can post a dyno graph later..image shack is not working right now.

Any ideas? Any help would be great!

usualy the stall will take from 10 to 15 hp on the dyno ,

and i had simillar like your setup before and put 360hp but wihout cutoff and without stall.and i could go easly up to 380 but the tuner said he gave up the 20hp for the sake of the nitros.
and what is your A/F ??? if it will be around 13.2 or .1 thats mean you are fine there
regarding the A/F ratio.
so i think maybe somthin wrong with the installation of the cam or valve spring coulds cause the problem???
tells man if u have anything new?
(its normal to have lower torque than HP specially on N/A cars)
420HP - 379TQ. my car did

I put down about 360 with a similar setup on an M6 so I don't think you're that far off. What were the conditions like? Hot Humid etc?

You gained 45hp and have a huge stall, and a small little cam. What's the problem? Heck, maybe the dyno was stingy. Everyone says that DynoJet reads high, but I have a buddy whose reads about 10% lower than the SuperFlow we used to use.

well with a locked converter those numbers do seem some what low......hows it perform at the track? with your mods and a good set of tires I would guess mid 11's....

That giant stall with that tiny cam is why your HP numbers are low. Take that bitch to the track and see what it runs. HP numbers are meaningless pretty much when you are dealing with a 4000 stall.

I agree. Track it.

Your dyno graph looks pretty good. Lots of torque at 3500 so you should launch strong and you look to be within within 5% of peak HP from 5500 - 6500 rpm

Nice graph, go see what it does. On a M6 I would worry, A4s are not Dyno queens.

Not the greatest peak numbers, but like it's been said, little cam+big stall=not a great showing on the dyno. On a positive note though, the torque and horsepower curves look beautiful. Car should be real strong at the track.
