Anyone have any idea how to put 99 style valve covers on 98 heads?

Default Anyone have any idea how to put 99 style valve covers on 98 heads?

Any info will be appreciated. Thanks. It's just 98 heads have too many bolts.

Sorry, it can't be done. 98 f-bod's have the perimiter bolts and the 99's up have the center bolt pattern. You would need 99+ heads to use the valve covers.

Two differant style heads and valve covers. I'd bw willign to swap my 98 valve covers for your newer style. theblur@alltel.net if you're interested

I just finished welding/machining a pair of earlier heads to accept the later center bolt covers. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Eek!]" src="gr_eek2.gif" /> I don't really know why I did it........ <img border="0" alt="[bang head]" title="" src="graemlins/gr_banghead.gif" /> but it can be done.........
Probably costs less than buying later head castings.
