What to expect from this cam
ho-kay so, i just got my Lt's on with the ory and the lm1, and, i just cant resist the fact that, it would sound 1001 times better with a nice cam. Having said that, the Magic stick 3 looks like its got some *****. What can i expect in terms of drivaility and preformance from this cam.

haha, A4, i know the rpm range on the MS3 is from about 2400 to 6800, with a peak at 6400. How hard is it gunne be to drive under that 2400 rpm range, and, how good for my 97k miles motor is it to set the limiter to 6900.

Go with a smaller cam and before you cam get a stall and gears (especialy stall)
Cam only this is a good one for you 227/236 .639/.602 112+4 (Custom LSK/XE-R)
Stall Vig 3800 or SS4000

actually, that cam menioned seemed pretty good, i was hoping to find that lift with a bit smaller duration then the magic stick 3 or 4. Im going to get gears, but a stall isnt in the near future at all, my dad wont let me spend money on this car, cuz im building a superstocker. Ill definitly check that cam out thoo

The only thing with a custom cam, is, knowing the rpm range and things like that. What i really wanted to do was get a cam that was like 230/234 .630/.610 and something like a 112 LSA. Woud something like that be a problem?

A quick highjack of the thread... My MS4 hasn't been everything I had hope for and I'm thinking about re-doing my cam to something just like that(maybe you could discuss why such a high lsa) or the Patrick G torque cam what would be the result with cam only vs. with some tsp stage 2.5 5.3L heads, also how would these respond to a 150 shot
little info, M6, full bolt-ons,

well don't get me wrong there are some guys here that run this cam (ms3, ms4, t-rex, and other donkey dick cams ) and are getting the results that they are looking for with more bolt ons or bigger cubes (electric water pump, heads, etc) and what not but for me the car is slowly becoming the slowest cam only car in amarillo and that is not a good thing.
also to answer your questioni think that predatorz's cam and Patrick G's torque cam may be the answer however the cam you suggested would be ok to good, but when you are spending $400 of your money why go with good to ok when you can get the best. (cause then you have to look at doing it again like me hahaha)

It is all about the power range desired. This has been hashed a million times.
BIG cams need more supporting mods to fully benefit from their potential.
A properly balanced custom cam will make use of the setup you have, like exhaust and gears, also lower durations and tighter LSA will increase midrange ower (below curve) not requiring huge stalls or iron clutches and steep gears.
That is where Patrick, myself and few others like to play with.
Basicaly dyno peak numbers are not what we look at, we look at optimising the combo to produce max output, we tailor the cam to the combo, not tailor the combo to the cam.
