You also have to take weather into consideration.
Places with sea level altitude and cold air will be the fastest by far. My local track is good but it never gets the -1500 da seen at some nice track like houston or englishtown.

I understand that a 10 second time slip is not that easy to get. I also understand that the weather conditions (DA) play a major role in your ET/MPH.

All I am saying is that I would have thought (hoped) that setups using the lower priced head porters heads that dyno big numbers (TEA, AS, etc) hitting the strips that there would have been at least one 10s time slip.

It looks like the best so far is low 11.3s.

Your car sounds like a real beast.

What cam are you running?
Are you able to run pump gas with 11.75:1 compression?

Who are you comparing the TEA packages too? Solid Roller cars that weigh 3500lbs or less? Most of the people that are purchasing TEA heads are on a budget and would prefer not to strip or beat up on their cars.. I for one do not go to the track at all.. The question should be how many stripped TEA cars are out there.. How many TEA cars running 4.30's, 4.56's, 4.88's gears.... ? How many TEA A4's with 4500 stalls with a race weight of 3400lbs or less..? You act as if there are a bunch of 10 sec H/C cars out there..

John,
I was running a 230/230 .572 110lsa and yes I run pump gas. The new bottom end drops compression just a tad(11.44:1) for the new cam. 232/238 .595/.605 111lsa

I am not comparing TEA to any other package. I asked a question. Are there ANY TEA H/C cars running in the 10s? That is it.
I have no idea how many 10 sec H/C cars are out there or what there setup is. I am sure that there is not very many.

This is suprising. I would have thought 10s would have been in the bag with all these 400+rwhp cars around here.

John

Hmmm.. I found this within this same thread...

Vince

Thank you for your valuable input. Please forgive me for being slow but I still do not get your point.

Just for clarification (if only for one person) this thread was not meant to flame or bash any person or company. My only intention was to ask a question.

Phillip

Good luck on your quest!

Its a coming.. dont worry. I know one thats gonna be in the 10's on TEA. You dont see many TEA heads/cam cars in the 10's yet cause they are new to the ls1's compared to GTP and MTI who were the first boys on the block. Its still isnt tons of those running 10's either

TEA's catching up fast, and this fall there will be some new TEA et's up there with the GTP's/MTI's I bet
man this stuff is fun

98TAAuto,you will need those TEA heads for this fall after i get the Z lined out on launching with the TCS converter and the missing intake and pulley....oh! and some good air will help also

Maybe this fall i can get a set of the TEA or AS heads on the car and see how far in ET i can go

ahhhhh FUG Forgot about your butt! HAHAH, I have a feeling you may lay down some 11.3-4's for sure cam only. Then heads and no doubt 10's hopefully. TEA or AS heads would be killer on your car. 10 second NA budget(thats what people call these heads) car

Hopefully with this TEA GP that just passed we can see some good ET's outta them. Those guys running 11.3's should be a little quicker this fall with cooler air

maybe, I got to take the wife to jubilee on friday. But I'd really like to meet up and talk tuning with you. as far as the cam goes, I think its great! It seems to be running really rich though.I didn't like the sound with the loudmouth so I'm just running open headers, yeah my neighbors hate me. by the way, have you thought about the cnc ls6 heads? i'm probably going to get them. they should be perfect for my setup. they flow nearly 295cfm at .525 lift.
