The other Edelbrock heads made good power in a GMHTP article. It was a member's car from here, "Chef" I believe.

I'd rather go with these. They are less money and actually have better flow values up to .500 with a smaller intake runner port, and a smaller combustion chamber. Read over Patrick G's formula for 500hp and you'll see that's the recipe for power, smaller runners, better low lift flow and smaller combustion chambers.

I think what he was saying about the big runner heads was that the ones he tried didn't make any more power because the mid and low lift numbers weren't as good. I don't think he was saying bigger runners are bad, you just have to find what's right for your combo.
