Default Need lifters

Are the LS7 lifters still somewhat questionable?
If so, what lifters are people preferring to use now?

Cadillac Racing (if you can find them) or Morel would be my choices. For $100 more than the LS7 lifter, the Caddy lifters are a good value. In comparison to Morel, the Caddy lifters provide a really nice lifter on a budget.

However, if you want the best hydraulic roller lifter on the market or require a lot of seat pressure and a high lift, then Morel is the way to go.

I went with the Comp OEM replacements. I dont think you can go wrong with them. Comp has been around a long time and i am sure there lifters are top notch and i have heard good things about them. I decided against the caddy lifters because i am not going to be spinning the motor anymore then 6500rpm so i dont think the caddy lifters would be any benefit for me. Well hope this helps. Goodluck

I have the Morel's, very nice piece. Crane also just came out with new lifters that will take very high lift and very high spring loads. I got the monthly newsletter via e-mail, so it is likely on their web site as well.

Nifty lifter that Crane.

I'd go with the Crane OEM replacement lifter over Comp OEM replacement. They are just better quality. If the same holds true for the new high-lift deals, they might be a good alternative to the Morels.

I went with the Caddy's also. But I noticed that I only had about .030 clearance between the lifter skirt and the closest point on my LSK lobe. Compared the Caddy to the old Comp OEM's I took out and the skirt is the same design. Not sure if the skirt is different on the Cranes or Morels.

The ls7 lifters are now selling pretty cheap, well the same ones used in the Caddillac CTS-V engine and are good to 7,000 RPMS!!! I will find the link for you.

Don't know on the Cranes, but I did ask Crane who is participating in the other thread if they could post a picture of their new lifter. As for the Morel's, the ends are open, i.e., the skirt doesn't fully enclose the wheel.
