Default tsp228r installed today, impressions.

I just finished the installation of the tsp 228r cam. specs are 228/228 .58x/.58x, 111 lsa with +2 ground in. car is 00 m6 with lid,air filter, ported maf, nx 100 shot.

Car feels god for first drive, not a ig difference, but this is a cam only car so far. have not tried the bottle yet. Used to get puled by a car with our turbo prelude, now we are dead even. Driveability is almost stock. You can hear the cam but it is very quiet (stock manifolds, exh, cats, etc.).

Cant wait to get some headers, ls1edit, gears, and more bolt ons.

Very happy so far.

Sean, you are CHOKING your motor to death with stock exhaust and that cam. Without anything to compliment a cam's purpose, of course you're not going to feel much....

Once you get the car breathing correctly(headers, exhaust, ls6 intake), and a tune it will feel like you added a 24 hr shot of nitrous to the car.

Sean,

Man you really need a set of headers for that car. The idle will be alot more aggressive when you get a good exhaust setup for her What springs did you decide on?

Thanks for the reply guys. I do know the car needs headers, gears, ls1 edit, etc.. Next week they get ordered. I am very happy with the cam and cant to wait to awke the car up.

I went with the 918's Jason. I bought retainers but didnt use them (they are not here yet). We were slow at work yesterday so I decided to pull my car in the shop and put the cam in. I will not be doing the retainers anytime soon!!!! The springs were not fun, even with the special tool!! took me about 11 hours to do cam and springs/pushrods. Not too long considering I had to run to the front to help customers, answer phones, from time to time.

Will put the car on our wideband tonight and spray it. Hopefully it wil relearn today.

Sean
