Default 228r or V2

Just wondering people opioions on these 2 cams. Ive read alot on the V2 and like it. But right now i only have a 2400 stall and i talked to tsp and they said i can run the 228r. Just wondering if i did get the 228r would i want i regret it and should of went wiht the V2?? CAuse if i will make atleast 15+ more rwhp with the V2 i will upgrade my stall but if not i won't.

Also wondering what heads people are running with these cams i was considering PRC 5.3l 2.5 , PRC Ls6 stage 2 or the Livernios stage 2.

i want to be over 400rwhp and make it into the 11 or very very low 12's right now its a high 12 sec car with just bolt ons and on street tires and im only making 316rwhp on a md.

My car dyno'ed 400rwhp and 375rwtq with the 228R cam. Thats without an underdrive crank pulley. Very nice cam.

228 isn't a "small" cam. It's a nice medium cam and will make good power under the curve. Good way to go I think.

I'd say the 228r would be the better all around cam... Better power down low with enough lift to pull hard up top.. Should have better street manners as well.

I've been looking at both of this cams. I think i would get the 228r and keep your stall. A 228R with a set of heads would be very strong.

+1 on the 228R

I have the V2 on a 3600 stalled auto and while the peak HP is nice (410+) the TQ is a little low (350)

I'm definitely considering a different ("Smaller") cam like the 228R. I have a friend with a 224R that out runs me consisitently at the track and I have a UD Pulley and FAST90/90 that he doesn't. - All of our other mods are identical.

Very interesting info right there. Does anyone know where to see some dyno graphs with the 224R and 228R cams? I would like to see some comparisons o those two cams. I would like to get close to 400 RWHP but not give up all the torque just to get there.

i have the tsp stage 2.5 5.3L heads with the 228r and its a VERY strong cam. it has the street manners of a 224 cam with a significantly harder pull. id go with the 228r with that stall.

I'd forshure go the cam and new stall route. A Yank SS3600 would be great with either one of those cams. Plus I think ypu'd get better results at the track with that combo vs keeping your current stall and getting heads.
