408 or 402 Question
408 or 402 Question A few questions, the search isn't working for me, and I've went through three pages hoping to find a few answers but I didn't.
I've done all the supporting mod, 12 bolt, built t56, sphoon suspension, etc. Now it's time for the most expensive part, the motor.
Few questions:
If I was wanting to build a NA 408 where I have a limited budget, but not too limited. I was looking at spending under 10k on the whole motor. Who would I look into for building a shortblock? I've seen a few NA 408 guys see 600 plus hp, is that possible on my budget?
What heads would I be looking into? What cam?
It's going to be a street/strip car, driven maybe once a week.
My goals are definately 600 horsepower NA, but if i can't reach that I wouldnt mind hooking my N20 kit back up.
Any other things you can inform me of would be greaT!

Well 600rwhp will be very hard with N/A but if you really planning to spend 10k on the motor alone here is what I would do Call TSP (or any company you want) they have awesome price and great service I'm overseas and get a great service from them.
here is what suggest:
427ci LS7 Block with LS7 heads,intake and an aggrassive cam with High 11 CR You can get close to 560-580rwhp maybe more with good tune through an M6 Then spray the hell of it 200shot you will be close to 800rwhp and 800rwtq with this setup.
