Is this a pipe dream? I hope you were not serious. you said you pay attention on here too . Don't make Quiken come in here and try to school you on making 1,600rwhp.

408 gets my vote...I have one on the way for a FI application but you can build an na 550rwhp with good street maners. and on top of that if you want more power down the road its nothing to hook up a 200 shot and be really fast! understand your end goal and build the machine to attain it, it will save you alot of money and alot of headaches.

To get a reliable 550rwhp out of an SS, you would need to spend at least 12,000 on the engine alone, then another 10,000 in misc mods like rear end, tranny upgrade, suspension mods, tires/wheels, fuel system. Could be more depending on who does the work for you. Then if you go to sell it, you will only be able to get back maybe a 1/4 of what you put into it.

If you want that much RWHP, sell your LS1 and get a 03/04 Cobra thats been whippled, they go for like 26-28K.

Or just add a supercharger to your ls1 with some heads and a cam

Wow!! You must be REALLY tired, because you just made another typo!

I'm sure you meant low 13's.. just like a standard Z28.. because they run the same times.. that's what you meant right?

The better route is either D1SC procharged or Twin huffers.

and still cheaper than both is a nice LS2 427 with nice heads and a good cam.
