I basically have a short block and head and cam with all covers and alot of bolts. Are the bolts for the rear cover the same as the frt timing cover.

Im in the process of bolting on the rear timing cover and i have what i think are the bolts. They are exactly the same as the valve cover bolts and the frt timing cover bolts. But they are to long.

Any idea

did you change the rear cover at any time??? some of the rear covers step down a little at the bolt hole, some are flat all the way across the one that steps down you cant use the same bolts as the front use the next size bolt.

I recieved this engine from my speed shop. They included all the original cover the whole nine yards. This is the original block and rear cover from an 02 z28. Good new is i spoke to the speed shop and they found a bag labeled rear cover bolts. I get them tomorrow. hopefully they are the right ones. Its just really weird everyone is saying its the same part.
