Default School me on LSx engine builders.

Alright, i've grown up in the modular world, so while I know the capablities to a certain extent i'm a newbie when it comes to the LSx engines.

I'm getting tired of my mustang, plans are selling it and buying a 93 Rx7 and doing the LS1/2 swap. I dont really want to swap in a stock engine. My goal for the car is about 500rwhp, then maybe a 100shot of juice ontop.

Like anything, I want it as cheap as possible haha... but is 7k a reasonible estimate for the cost of built engine + probably a used t56. My plan is to buy something that is complete and stock (so i can get the timing chains, ecu, and the other billiion parts i'll need).

Any suggestions appreciated, other than don't swap the engine into an rx7.

I actually saw that... and I appreciate it. I guess I should have asked, how much easier is it getting there with the LS2 as opposed to the LS1 and would it be worth the extra money?

i also wouldnt count on building a 500whp all motor plus nitrous setup mounts etc whatever is needed to put into a rx7 for 7,000$ including tranny clutch etc.
i dont see this possiable. i would suggest lots of research. if not put a basic bolt on ls1 into the car. see how much money you got left over. and add cam heads later on.
good set of heads will run you 2300$ or so

I'm not price limited, it was just a guess, without the cost of the nitrous setup.

Damn though, i thought your heads were cheaper...than the modulars, thats about what the 4v heads run with a port.

with a basic bolt on ls1 motor intake headers exhuast pullies and 150 shot nitrous. i think 7000$ is in your range.dont be afraid to spary a ls1 motor bottoms ends have been proven to take 200 shots safely.
just make sure you do all the safety percausions when sprayin via window switch purge bottle heater gauge pressure safety switch.

you can also buy a more budget of a head like patriot for i believe a little over 1000$
wont make power like an AFR head.

Research old threads. lots of reading.
this site will be your best freind when needing help to build a car
Hope i helped

Thanks a lot... so what you're saying is i'd be better off shooting for around 450rwhp N/A then add a 150shot instead? Can the bottom end of a stock LS1 handle that much safely? If so thats damn impressive.
