Long shot here. I saw a tool advertised in a Mustang magazine (sorry...). Anyway, it was a hollow tap where the tip collapsed to a small diameter. You put it through the stripped plug hole then screwed this plug down the middle of it to expand it to the full size. Then you threaded it backwards out the threads pulling any metal shavings with it.

I have a few other posts around, what happened is that I blew up my modded LS1 engine in my '99 SS. The passenger side head is off. Looking down the #8 cylinder, all I see is a debris field, this piston is totally gone, shattered into a dozen or more pieces.
The spark plug hole thread got buggered up because the spark plug tip got bent over and as I turned the spark plug out, the spark tip electrode stripped the tread. I am really screwed up right now! In the other treads, I am looking for advice on a short block. Oh, BTW: the block has a 1 1/2" hole in it, just above the starter motor.

Yea, I agree. My intent is to pruchase or build a short block and re-use the Patriot Perforance heads. I will get them re-conditioned and helicoil that stripped plug hole.
