Yes, I have owned one before and inspected it for these exact distinguinshing factors and I agree with the above statement.

Also, at the time I bough mine about 4 years ago they had a little tag on the bottom lower side of the block that said "SCHWARTZ ENGINEERING." Not sure if that is still the case but at the time for me it these were the 2 physical factors that visually stood out and identified the C5R block!

Correct on all counts...

Blue anodized core drain plugs. Blue crossbolts on mains. C5R specific head studs (std threads) Schwartz Eng. Markings. Wet sump stock LS1 style oiling system.

i say if it was never in a C5R then it will never be a C5R block! only a C5R "style" block!!! hahaha!
