Bad Day at the Track......
Bad Day at the Track...... Well went out to KCIR today to beat up on some imports. Well I only got two runs in. First run was a low 13 just gettin a feel for the track and then next run, things are feeling good, well I missed a shift(not the reason for a bad day), crossin the finish line top of fourth gear..........let off the gas and pulled a james bond and threw the smoke screen.........Well got back to the truck and trailer and pulled the lid and bellow off, oil everywhere! Me and some of buddies who have been racing and building engines for a long time, without tearing the motor apart yet, came to concensus that it's a piston ring or rings. Well looks like I already have plans next weekend. Pull the motor and tear it down...79000 miles, It's time to freshen the motor up a little bit and get it headed in a new direction.
Sounds like what happened to me, mine didn't give completely though just enough to puff enough smoke for me to realize before i raced and did more damage. I'll have tons of pics once I actually start on the damn thing, awaiting the $$$
