Default Found the problem on my no start......(reluctor wheel)

My car just up and died last week while accelerating at 1/2 throttle in 4th as if someone flicked a switch. When trying to start it , I could get it to fire but not run. I threw a C0336 crank sensor performance code so I tried changing the sensor with no luck. I tested the wiring and it was fine so I started to tear down thinking there was a problem at the reluctor wheel. Well there was! Pulled the motor and tore it down . Seems that last season when I broke a couple of inner valve springs (Crane 144832) a piece made it's way into the crank area ( I can't figure out how) and on the day of reckoning got caught between the rear of the block and the reluctor wheel , bending most of the teeth on the rear of the wheel. The good news is there was no other damage and after 30K miles, the crank, rods and pistons look great with only light scuffing to the cylinder walls which should clean up just fine with a hone. So I am now officially in rebuild mode. Going to do crank and rod bearings and piston rings. I may as well refresh the heads while I am at it. What are the piston rings of choice these days?

That is rather odd for part of a spring to get all the way to the back of the block. Ring wise I believe the hellfires are up there performance wise. They're a file to fit ductile iron ring. They're tough and can take a lot of beating.

I also hard a hard time figuring out how the piece of inner spring (which was almost 1/2 the diameter of the spring) made it back there until I tried fitting it into the pushrod hole where it easily dropped right through. Who sellls the hellfires?

What cylinder's springs broke?

You can get them from quite a few sponsors. I was told Eric Koenig had them, but good luck getting him or someone there on the phone or call you back. I think Outlaw Motorsports has them and they're easy to get in touch with. Someone like Thunder Racing, Weber Racing (easy to get in touch with pm wise), or Wheel to Wheel (impossible to get in touch with over the phone) should have them.

The springs that my pistons are mounted to. LOL I was talking about broken inner valve springs.

I can't seem to find the hellfires in a 3.905 bore.

I know they have them. I was talking to Outlaw motorports about them a few months ago. Try giving them a call or shoot them a PM.
