Torquer 2 would work better for what you are describing. The MS3 makes good power but you have rev the **** out it.

Well i spin to 6500rpm, but if you want to make power around the entire powerband either get a smaller cam or check out the reverse splits cams. I never looked into reverse splits, but i have read a few threads about them and damn they seem almost like the perfect cam if you want to stay with just bolt-ons and a cam.

I have a MS3 112LSA and I love it.It doesnt make power until 2500rpm but after that its a rocket.I take mine to 6500rpm(not constantly). The LS1 will handle the high rpms because of the six bolt main but if you want 500hp get a forged bottom end just to be safe.JR at Texas Speed said if you want to run nitrous, gears, or high stall tq go with the MS3 but if you just want a thump and drive it with out worry get the TQ V.2.I drive my camaro back and forth to college with stock converter and it isnt to bad.Im still gettin a stall though, sucks below 2000rpm.Either way those cams are awesome.

if you get the 5.3 heads from TSP they do a special valve job on them so that they will clear, and make some killer power.

i beleive you have to request it..if you get the heads, and cam together.. they will prolly do it anyways.but just to be on the safe side just let them kno the heads will be running with an ms3, and you dont want to fly cut. so ask them to raise the valves.

do they have any work done to them? TSP can still raise the valves aslong as you have ALL the info on the heads.

Just call them and ask them if the heads will work with the MS3, they should know what work if any was done to the heads you got.
