Sounds good, will be looking forward to seeing the pics. I've pulled them out the top before, but I think I'm ready to try it this way next time.

Seriously, out the bottom is better if you can do it. Guy at my shop goes out and in in about 2 hours. He is a mad man.

is there a complete write up anywhere for pulling it out the bottom? By complete I mean something like one of JMX's install writeups, down to every bolt and wire...?

Raughammer's wasn't a complete writeup, but had some good pics that show you how it's done. I'm not sure what happened to his site. You should email him.

My service manual has one. It isn't too bad, but the only thing you gotta take into consideration is that the sub frame comes out with it.

Makes the engine easy to move around =P

Sounds like Inspector12 has this procedure of dropping the engine out the bottom down pat. He mentioned that he has some picures that need to be scanned in. Hopefully he can get them scanned and post a writeup.

Everyone keep bugging him until he does... LOL or maybe volunteer to host the pictures / writeup.

I have searched a lot and haven't found a good writeup on pulling the engine from the bottom. I recall seeing a site a while back where a guy pulled his engine from the bottom - he had a lift in his garage!, but I can't seem to find this site.

I would love to see a jmX style writeup of pulling the engine out the bottom.

I think most shops pull from the top cause its easier to move the car out of the shop once the motor is out, cause most of the time the car is waiting on parts or money before they continue. I do agree with pulling from the bottom, it does help if u have a lift but i heard people use the engine lift to lift the front of the car so the motor just rolls out with the wheels.

I wonder if a pair of large floor jacks can get it high enough? Anybody have some numbers on how high you have to get it?

I might be willing to host a good writeup for this if someone has/or wants to make one...

I cant' believe that no one has made one of these yet...with as long as our cars have been out, you would think there would be a great one somewhere...a JMX style write up would rock...
