Glad to hear its running finally John...

Good deal John I cant wait to see how this works for you.I'm almost certainly canceling my turbo mission, going with a setup like Wades other than c5r heads, custom intake. After spectating at BG it seems to run with the big dogs it takes spray. You will be breaking new ground in the FI LS1 game if you get in the 9s reliably.
I think your making the right move Dave...

Congrats.

Either run less boost, or get the cog or chain drive. You'll DEFINITELY have problems shredding belts with the 8 rib....

Pro Stock John,Hardtop can hook you up with a billet pulley to solve your problem,he posted above.E-mail him I'm sure he can hook you up,he's a great guy to deal with. The pulleys are bad to the bone and work very well!!

I don't think the pulleys are going to be the problem, if he has the best non slip pulleys hes still going to go through 8 rib belts like water....especially trying to spin 20psi..

But man that thing is going to put down some power...

In an effort to keep the project moving forward, I am having the car moved via flatbed this morning since I cannot take time off this week. Speed Inc. is doing a rough tune just so the car will run decently, going with 26 degrees of timing, 7500 rev limiter, and keeping a calibration for my current 38 lb injectors.

Speed Inc., especially Dan Marks over there, has done a outstanding job on the car. I hold Dan in high regard and truth be told, while I would prefer to do a lot of the install work myself, I have been too busy in the last couple of years and Dan does a great job.

You guys might see the Firebird on a flatbed going up I294 today.

Thinking we might start the blower install next Tuesday. My friend Chris Sikora (96 LT1 Z/28, 9.36@149mph on a 1.54) will be fabricating custom blower mounts and will doing all the intercooler piping for the custom air/air intercooler. I will be also redoing the stock style fuel system at that point and will be installing the drag tank, Weldon 2025, the braided lines, 83 lb injectors, and the custom bill fuel rails.

Next week should be very exciting!

www.jim-powski.com

He is a big contender in NMCA Drag Radial. I believe his raceweight is 3300 lbs, also, with stock style suspension. He has a Nova, but he is actually building a 4th gen camaro for a aerodynamic advantage. Check the pics on his site, sick wheels up launches on drag radials.

John you have to put that thing on a diet!

His stuff sounds neat, but I am thinking more like crazy street car than race car. Is he running a cog setup?

I wasn't planning to dyno the car, since it's a 348ci hydraulic with 9:1 compression and huge headers (Kooks 1.875>2.000 with 3.5 dual ovalized exhaust)... going through a T400 trans setup... I'm thinking 365rwhp/420rwtq? What do you think Jason?

Car was dropped off at Alston Racing up in Antioch two hours ago, they will install and modify the tunnel-braced torque arm setup as needed.

I dont have anything to add other than I can't wait to see this thing moving. I got to see PSJ's car in person when I was at Speed Inc 2 weeks ago, and it looked so lonely out there in back with no engine!

John, I see, your 4" hood was still unpainted, when are you going to get it painted, or are you going to leave it bare?

PSJ: I'm not sure what kind of blower drive setup he is running. You should contact him, I'm sure he will knock 2 seconds off your combination.

Ragtop, the blower will move the peak hp up 500 rpms. Think about it. My other cam option was from Comp, 240/245//115 but we felt the combo would suffer in the midrange and need to be shifted at 7800.

Chris, I am not sure. If I can find 110 unleaded I would like to use it. MAF won't handle the power level so we are undecided on how we will tune the car but I might do a open loop tune if the controller I have can't make the MAF work at this HP level.

Masterdill, I am getting advice from a 8.97 NMRA Renegade Mustang and a 9.36 LT1 Z/28 so we are good for now but thanks. I'm not looking for 1000 hp like that guy.

Constrictor, painting the hood is low on my priority list.

Oh and Dan from Speed Inc. said my car is as loud as before, maybe louder... I guess my Flowmaster race mufflers are not very restrictive.

Should be even louder with the blower on it. I wonder what will be louder, the blower or the fuel pump.

We had a meeting last nite about my blower setup, Chris, Bob, Charlie, and I... And we have a plan of attack to make it work. We will be relocating the alternator to the passenger side to where the AC was, and putting the blower down low like an LT1.

If I was paying someone to do this for me, it would of been done in 3 weeks MAX. But I would of done it myself and got it done as soon as I got the parts.
