Car is running (on horsepower)!
Speed Inc. fired up the car and it's running!
We are having a problem getting my torque arm to bolt to the Moser 9" so I am getting the car trailered to Alston so they can modify their torque arm as needed.
I hope to have the car by Saturday.
Once we make sure there are no bugs we will slap on the blower and air/air intercooler... And the other phase II stuff.

Re: Car is running (on horsepower)!
how big is this motor John? i havn't really heard any details on the motor other than the compression ratio and the fact that it'll have a BIG amount of boost.

Matt, the motor is as follows:
-Speed Inc. LS6 block bored .005 to 3.905
-Stock crankshaft
-Eagle 6.125 rods
-ARP L19 rod bolts
-ARP main studs
-Diamond -8.6cc FI pistons
-GM 6.0 MLS gaskets
-6.0 heads, ~69cc
-Yella Terra 1.7 rockers
-Manley 2.02/1.57 valves, .100 longer than stock
-FMS 230/237//115//+2 hydraulic roller
-FMS ported oil pump
-FMS/ Crane springs, 145 on the seat, 1.85 installed height
-Custom H-11 head studs from Dave White
-Comp R lifter, .010 preload
-Rollmaster double timing chain
-Vortech crank pulley, with keyway cut in crank
-Home ported TB, but getting a new one from Bauer
-LS6 intake
I will be running 8 rib Vortech pulleys specified for 20 lbs of boost.

He should go 8's with 20 psi from a YS-trim ... Jim Filipowski goes 8.6's on drag radials with a carb'd blow through setup with AFR 227 heads and 25 psi from a YS trim.

Re: Car is running (on horsepower)!
What kind of car, raceweight, and what motor? Is that one of those drag radial Mustangs?
I am going for 20 psi on a 8 rib setup, with a 3400-3500 raceweight to start.
My car on horsepower should still run mid to low 11's, since I am running a TCS 5000 stall, 4.11's and 28" slicks at 3450 raceweight. I'm hoping for easy high 9's and then hope to work the number down to mid 9's over the course of the year. My main concern is tuning the combo safe so it runs a couple hundred passes this year.

Good deal John I cant wait to see how this works for you.I'm almost certainly canceling my turbo mission, going with a setup like Wades other than c5r heads, custom intake. After spectating at BG it seems to run with the big dogs it takes spray. You will be breaking new ground in the FI LS1 game if you get in the 9s reliably.

Reliable is the name of the game.
One area of concern for me is belt tension. I am thinking we might need to really increase belt tension to keep the belts from burning up at higher rpms...
