Default Cam for my 5.3

I was wondering what cam would be good to run on my 04 RCSB chevy. It has a 5.3 stock except for LT's, exhaust, CAI, and pulley. I know MTI has some cams that work well with stock LS1 heads but would they also work well with my 5.3? I tried the search but nothing found.

I would go over to Performancetrucks (sister site) and ask there. Be fore warned though, those guys like huge cams!

If it were me, I would have Patrick G or another cam guru spec one out for you. I had Patrick G spec out a cam for my 5.3, and what he came up with looks like it will do EXACTLY what I wanted it to. Patrick G charges 25 bucks, but it is well worth the money to get a cam tailored to your vehicle and mods.

I have a custom grind comp cam in my truck... it works well with my mods and bottle. I would go with something around a 220/220 given your mods with about a 3K stall...

I'd take the advise given and go over to performancetrucks.net and ask around... tons of good recommendations over there.

224 duration and above. Granted, most on PT have supporting mods, but I would say that 224 and up with 3600 stall on a DD is a little much.
