Default need some DCR help

I'll be going to a set of AFR 205's milled to 59cc soon and I'm trying to decide if I should go with .040 Cometics or just stick with the stock gaskets. Using the DCR calculator here for my 232/240 .595/.608 on a 114+4 LSA cam, I come up with a DCR of 8.66:1 for stock gaskets and 8.93:1 for the Cometics. This is my first time attemting these calculations, so could someone double-check my numbers? Also, is the .27 gain worth it? Would I have any problems running premium at that ratio?

I'm planning on adding a small amount of spray eventually, too. Which gasket would be more reliable on the gas?

Thanks,

Kevin

I would go with the 8.66. This is about where you want your dcr for a street car. But get some good MLS gaskets. I think you will have problems with 8.93 on pump gas.

You're probably right. Better safe than sorry. Thanks.

Get the cometics and don't mill the heads as much .More material on the deck is always better . You'll also have a better quench to aid in fighting preignition .

Heads are already milled and the AFR's already have a pretty thick deck in comparison to stock castings. Even at 59cc, the deck is still considerably thicker than a stocker, isn't it?

Since the heads are already milled I would do the stock gaskets.
