ironblock 414 questions

ironblock 414 questions Im going to start soon on a new motor for mycar. Ive decided to go between 408-414ci, ironblock so it can handle a big shot better than an aluminum block would. Im already going to have an aluminum intake, longtube headers, 228/236 cam, and all the external stuff. what bore/stroke would be ideal for a 414? can i get an offset ground crank or do I have to use lunati's 382? I'd rather have a bigger bore than more stroke, what are my options here. also, what would be a good cost assumption for this buildup? im going to be doing just a few little things at a time so budget isnt really a concern, itll just take me a tad longer to build it up.

Re: ironblock 414 questions I really dont think there is any problems with block integrity with the aluminum block, just look at ARE is running. Its more about trying to save some money, thats why some guys go with the iron blocks. Look at the funny car guys, they make over 3000hp on an aluminum block, granted its a race block. Thats like the older guys saying that aluminum heads suck and they dont like them cause they warp? now WTF are you doin that the head gets that hot..... shoot bret bauer an e-mail, -----------> sponsor over there, bauer racing, my motor was designed for 900hp on pump gas, funds fell short, but he as the buildup.
