Default 226/230 cam question.....need some advice BAD!

Stock i was getting 225-250 outta a tank. Swapped in a custom cam with a 226/230 @ .510 112lsa (before i get questioned, i dont have the cam card to know for sure, shop wont give it up but i'm finding out more and more and its lookin more like the ASA cam in here) but gas mileage went down to about 130-160 (170 on a good tank). First thought it was the tuning, went back to stock, adjusted nothing but the idle so far, and still having the crappy mileage. $300 a month for gas is killing me so what cam would be better for the gas miles?

i was told it was the LSA that kills the gas mileage.

ALSO, i have a set of TEA 1.5 in my bedroom floor waiting to go on but honestly, i cant afford to go down any further in the mileage being that this is my daily driver?

Anybody have ANY suggestions. I love the power but, this just sucks.

WOW...your mileage might be low, but your car makes nice power and ET's very good. Looks like that cam works good.

Try a TR224 or something similar on a 114 lsa (if you are worried about he lsa). This should still make 370-385 or so.... but drive better in an auto and should probably help some with gag... while still making good power.

Hope that this helps!

Sounds like an RP Motorsports cam to me. If it is, junk it. If you got tuned by them, go get tuned by someone else. It's normal to see crappy mileage after a cam install if you don't have decent tuning. I get around 22 in the city, and 28 or so on the highway with my setup.

Oh yeah, that sounds like a Pat quote.

Ryan,
how did you guess? I have taken it back to stock and had someone else fix the "basic" stuff right now. But still gettin the crappy mileage. I think i found another beater to drive so it may not matter now.

Not sure about your mileage prob, since you have the stocker back in. Try ATAPing it and see what comes up.
