I'd rather let my car warm up for a couple minutes to extend valve spring life and change my oil a little more often than to start driving it after only sitting for 30 seconds and have to change my springs after 10k miles instead of 20k. I guess it's a personal thing.

You are NOT going to lose 10k miles of spring life, or even CLOSE, because you started to drive slow and easy without sitting and idling.

Yes, I know this, it was an obvious exaggeration, just like letting your car idle for 2 minutes with a big overlap cam introduces enough fuel into your oil to worry about. If you're changing your oil, as well as checking it, regularly, it's nothing to worry about. However, spring life is prolonged to some extent. To what extent that is, I'm not sure, but if I can do something simple that can stave off having to do a spring swap for a bit longer, I will do it.

I always let teh car idle till the temp gauge moves past 100*. My A/F ratio is never richer than 13:1 so I dont think its nearly enough to wash down cylinders or put fuel in the oil.
