Default Racket noise coming from oil pan....what do you think???

this is in my 406 small block chevy. ran fine yesterday. i start it up today and it making this loud knocking noise, it sounds like its in the oil pan. oil pressure is fine, it revs fine, and it starts with no problems. it sounds like the crank smacking the oil pan but why would it start now if ive been driving it since last summer? oh and when i rev it from the carb, the noise fads away then it comes back when i let off the throttle. whats your guess?
