Installed the Yella Terras...
I finnaly found time to do it at 1:00 AM today, for the most part, hastle free unless you have a modded valvetrain ie lash caps, waaay shorter push rods, extensive milling etc.. To begin with, I re-checked my current pre-load, it was at 1.5, so I pulled the DS assembly and replaced it with the Yellas with no shims, ran it down to exactly 1 turn of pre-load, thats about perfect to there standards. so, I moved over to the PS and same pre-load stock vs Yella. started the car this morning and it runs just fine, there is ALOT less clickety clackety from the valve train but not dead quiet mind you, but better than before.
Test drive:
Can't tell right now, the trans slips at high R's in 3rd and blows the tires off into and passed 2nd gear to begin with but it seems to have a bit more low end off a traffic light. I will make a dyno appt once my NEW TRANS gets here .
Stock rockers.

Joe ..... are you sure you didn't install them backwards because they are supposed dead silent. LOL Seriously.... they do help quiet things down, don't they?? Hope to see you soon.

roller rockers are more of a piece of mind, they create less strain on the valve train due to less friction. Power wise i have no idea, longevity wise very good. Now if only we could see a set for 200 bucks like the ones from ford motorsport for the 5.0. Maybe one of these days.

Supposedly since they do not flex they give you the "true" lift/duration of the cam which could = more hp but nobody has done a dyno yet to know for sure

Neat! Keep us posted on any dyno resiults I plan on getting some in the near future - still deciding whether or not to go with the stock ratio or go with 1.8s

In your opinion (JPR, Mark, etc), is there a certain level (horsepower, rpm, etc) when you'd advise the use of these Yella Terra's?

I don't know if Mark will echo the exact sediments, but in my opinion as I mentioned above, "A proportional duration to .550 lift", ie 224 cam + which would have a direct reflection on what spring rate must be used to run these cam size mentioned and are usually shifted at 6,200 and higher. Not only that, it's just good insurance IMHO. Recently, I installed a set of brand new stock rockers on a 230 cam car, quiet at first, then they began clattering within 1,500 miles if thats anything to go by? I give them my seal of approval and all our new builds will either come with them or be suggested, but we have made due over the years with the stock pieces too but with issues.
The reason for the explanation in my frst post is that they are not exactly "plug N play" you really have to check your valve train geometry well if your extensively modded. For example, I tried to install them on EZSS's car, and we had no preload at all, so at this point, there would be a coulpe different things that could be done, longer pushrods, re-adjust lash cap thickness to ballance out the "strike" area on the valve tip, starting at -0- lash is a tough one though because there is no real reference point besided subtracting out what the stock rocker preload was at so it's kinda hit or miss till the correct geometry and pre-load is acheived.
