408 guys come in...cam question
I had to move my converter lock up points to keep the car from lugging against the converter and that only helped a little .
The only real problem you will have is the 3200 stall is not going to like a 244/248 duration .
A 3600-3800 stall will be needed for that size duration imo .
Its gona lug hard against the converter at 50-55 mph in over drive , 3rd gear locked at 40-45 is gona be bad also for a DD .
If you drive the car every day like i do a 244 is gona suck , that big of a duration will make great power in the 510-525whp range but as a dd you might not like it .
I have to order a new cam monday because one of my lifters was messed up during assembly and im going to stick with the same size and specs i have now .
Great power and right on the edge of drivability .
Also , a 244/248 will bog a little against a 3200 stall off the line because your not going to make power with that cam untill 3600-3800 rpms .
The only reason i get away with a 238/242 and a 3200 stall is because i spray alot which makes my converter flash higher .
244/248 + 3200 stall + 3500 lbs = sucky launch's.
Merv has a 3600 stall , that why his car drives ok with a 243/247
Stick cars can get away with big durations while us auto guys have limits
on our durations for driveability

He is also spraying , that will instantly flash the converter to the 3500-3600rpm range which about right where his cam is starting to make good power .
And Beard , dont let anyone fool you , if your making 225 on 200 shot jets , its because they are 225 shot jets , no matter how they are stamped .
Its the torque that will be super impressive and off the chain with the stroker motor .
Beards 3200 stall make it easier to use around town without being to anoying from light to light . A 3800 stall is going to be anoying in traffic and from light to light type everyday driving .
Excessive , look at the combination and learn from the combinations that others have before spending your hard earned money .
Purpose/Cam/converter/gear are the main things to iron out because if one is off , the rest wont work the way you want or imagine .
So far , your 244/248 with a 3800 is gone rock but with what gear in the 12 bolt ?
Also , with a 244/248 // 3800 stall your gas mileage in the city is gona instantly drop to 12-14 mph going from light to light in traffic if that is any concern .
Do you do a lot of highway miles to and from work ? ,, gota take that into concideration also .
It all make ya go ,, hummmmm

Thanks for the info. I was thinking 3800-4000 stall and 3.42 gear 12 bolt...I found a 242/244 610/612 cam on a 113+3 LSA. What do you think of this setup...enough stall/gear or no for that cam? I only drive 1.3 miles to work...all other driving is for pleasure.

If its strickly N/A a 3600 will put you right on the power band of a 242/244 cam and will launch like a rocket with drag radials but still give you some crusing ability with the 342 .
imo thats setup is gona rock and only driving 1.5 miles to work , traffic is not a concern anyway.
3800-4000 stall on the street is a little to high imo for a dd .
